1.Execute audit assistant functions to check the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures.
2.Review, assess and recommend changes in accounting systems and controls of a business unit.
3.Verify and inspect accounts receivable and payable ledgers and general ledger for its accuracy.
4.Check, inspect and reconcile bank deposits and payments.
5.Inspect, test and assess software and hardware systems for its failure.
6.Check all accounting and clients’ databases are updated and functioning properly.
7.Study, inspect and assess, budgets, balance sheets and other related financial statements and records.
8.Review and recommend changes in internal audit controls.
9.Check and verify accounting books and records are in conformity with industry practices and corporate policies.
10.Ensure compliance of regulatory guidelines and generally accepted auditing standards.
QUALIFICATION,EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENT
1.Audit assistants need a strong knowledge of finance and accounting and a passion for staying up to date on the latest tax and regulatory trends.
2.Being an analytical thinker is important as so much of an audit assistant’s job involves careful analysis of complex financial and procedural documents. In addition to these areas of knowledge and personality traits, the following skills are needed to find employment as an audit assistant:

1. Analyzing financial reports using spreadsheet software
2. Identifying financial strengths and areas that need improvement
3. Collaborating with financial analysts to review financial and budget reports
4. Taking initiative to learn about new tax and regulatory developments on their own time
